Rockarchive Celebrates Cliff Richard



Coinciding with the 50th Anniversay tour of pop evergreens Clif Richard and the Shadows, rock photography specialist Rockarchive.com have some great new images of Cliff and the band. The images capture candid moments recording at the famous Abbey Road studios, in the eary days of their success (6 million albums sold, and a 3rd movie in production) . Already the brooding images of Cliff indicate a young man grappling with big questions of fame and meaning.


Twenty years since their last performance together, Cliff and The Shadows are reuiniting to celebrate their 50th anniversary in the music industry. In the late '50s and early '60s, Cliff and The Shadiwss dominated the British popular music scene. They had record-breaking solo and joint careers, and establishing their undisputed place in pop history.

Between them they notched up no less than 19 No 1 hits, including Living Doll, Travellin' Light, Please Don't Tease, Bachelor Boy, Wonderful Land and Apache, and starred together in the popular films Summer Holiday and The Young Ones.

In 2009 Cliff and The Shadows bring their extraordinary partnership to an end with a Golden Anniversary concert tour of the UK.
